Privacy Policy

Wormhole is built so that there is almost nothing to write here. The app has no account and no analytics, and nothing you make is ever uploaded to us. This page explains the few places where data does get processed — essentially your subscription, and iCloud if you switch it on — and what your rights are.

What the app does not do

This is the important part, so it comes first. Wormhole does not ask you to create an account. It contains no analytics or tracking SDK, no advertising, and no crash reporter that transmits data about you.

Everything you make stays on your device. Your samples, recordings, projects and exports are stored locally and are never uploaded to us. We have no way to hear or see what you make. The one exception is iCloud, described below — and even there the files go to your own Apple account, not to us.

iCloud sync

Wormhole Pro can keep your projects and their samples in your own iCloud Drive, so a new phone still has your beats on it. It is off unless you turn it on, and the free app never uploads anything at all.

When it is on, your project files and the audio in them are stored in the iCloud container of your Apple Account. That is a service you have with Apple: we are not a party to it, we receive no copy, and we cannot browse, hear or restore your files. What is there is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your iCloud settings, and deleting a project in the app deletes it from iCloud too.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — you switch it on. Switching it off stops the syncing; nothing already in your iCloud is deleted by us, and you can remove it yourself in iOS Settings under your Apple Account.

Microphone, photo library and files

Wormhole asks for access to your microphone, your photo library and files only when you use the feature that needs it. iOS shows you the prompt and you can withdraw permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Audio recorded from the microphone, and clips you import from your library or from Files, are processed entirely on your device — tempo and key detection, chopping and all effects run offline. None of that material is transmitted anywhere.

Subscriptions

Apple is the seller. Wormhole Pro is purchased through the App Store. Your payment details are handled by Apple and are never visible to us. We receive no name, address or payment information.

To know whether your subscription is active — including on a new phone after you reinstall — we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 633 Taraval St, San Francisco, CA 94116, USA) as a processor. When you open the paywall or make a purchase, the following is processed: a randomly generated app user ID that is not linked to your identity, the purchase receipt issued by Apple, the product purchased, subscription status and expiry, plus country, platform and app version.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — this processing is necessary to provide the subscription you bought. A data processing agreement is in place with RevenueCat, and transfers to the USA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Subscription records are kept for as long as your subscription runs and afterwards for the statutory retention periods.

RevenueCat's own privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy. Apple's: apple.com/legal/privacy.

This website

This site sets no cookies, embeds nothing from third parties, and runs no analytics.

It is served as static files by our hosting provider, which — like any web server — records the request in a log: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referrer and your browser identification. This is necessary to deliver the site and to keep it secure, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. These logs are deleted after a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to obtain a copy of your data (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).

To exercise any of these, write to wormhole@aimoxyz.xyz. In practice we hold very little: unless you have bought a subscription, we hold nothing at all that identifies you.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, in the EU member state where you live or work.

Children

Wormhole is rated 4+ and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. There is no account, no profile, no messaging and no user-to-user contact of any kind.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the new version will be published here with a new date, and the change will be mentioned in the app release notes.
